Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink services will be affected by industrial action on the following dates:
- Saturday 1 October 2022 (strike action by ASLEF and RMT unions)
- Wednesday 5 October 2022 (strike action by ASLEF union)
Saturday 1 October
The railway will operate limited opening hours with Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink services starting later than normal and finishing in the late afternoon. Please check your first and last trains carefully, as there will be no alternative travel outside of these services.
Gatwick Express services will not run.
A service map of which routes will be running can be downloaded here.
Sunday 2 October
As the railway will be unavailable overnight due to the strike action trains and crew will not be in the correct locations to provide a normal service for the start of Sunday 2 October. This means that the first services on routes will begin much later than normal. Journey Planners are up to date expect for early morning services. They will be updated on Saturday 1 October.
Wednesday 5 October
Many train operators will be taking strike action on Wednesday 5 October. Although Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink drivers are not involved in this strike action, neighbouring train companies will be affected, it is expected that services will be impacted. A reduced service will run between Tonbridge and Redhill. You are advised to check your journey before travelling.
For further information on tickets, travel advice and FAQs you can see Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Thameslink and Southern websites.
