The ASLEF Union has announced that strike action will be taken by its members on Saturday 6 April.

There is also an ASLEF Union overtime ban from Thursday 4 April to Saturday 6 April, and from Monday 8 April to Tuesday 9 April. Services on ALL ROUTES will finish earlier than usual - Please check your last trains carefully on the day.

There will be some amendments to early morning trains - please check journey planners to see if your morning journey will be affected.

Information for the days covered by the strike and the overtime ban are shown below:

Thursday 4 and Friday 5 April - Overtime & Rest Day Work Ban

ASLEF INDUSTRIAL ACTION - Overtime & Rest Day Work Ban

Due to planned ASLEF industrial action on this date, a LIMITED SERVICE will be in operation, structured as follows:

  • 1 train per hour London Marylebone - stations to Birmingham Moor Street (and vice-versa).
  • 2 trains per hour London Marylebone - stations to Oxford (and vice-versa).
  • Shuttle service Leamington Spa - stations to Stratford Upon Avon (and vice-versa) for most of the day.
  • 1 train per hour London Marylebone - stations to Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham; and vice-versa).

Some additional services will operate during the morning and evening peak periods.

No Chiltern Railways service will operate on the following routes/at the following stations:

  • NO SERVICE: Stourbridge Junction - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • NO SERVICE: Sudbury & Harrow Road, Sudbury Hill Harrow, Northolt Park or South Ruislip.

A severely reduced Chiltern Railways service will operate at Denham Golf Club and at Kings Sutton.

In respect of planned engineering works, the railway is closed between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury between 08.30 and 20.30. During this period, rail replacement buses will operate as follows, connecting with trains to/from Marylebone at Princes Risborough:

  • Princes Risborough - Little Kimble - Aylesbury
  • Princes Risborough - Monks Risborough

Friday 5 April - Overtime & Rest Day Work Ban

Stratford-upon-Avon services will be running to a significantly different timetable to other days. This is due to West Midlands Railway services not running today (due to strike action) and the consequent lack of platform space at Leamington Spa.

No trains will call at Wembley Stadium all day today. Please do not attempt to use Chiltern Railways services to travel to the event taking place at Wembley Stadium this evening.

Saturday 6 April - Strike day

Due to planned ASLEF industrial action on this date, NO CHILTERN RAILWAYS SERVICES WILL OPERATE.

Great Western Railway, LNER, Northern and TransPennine Express. services will also be affected by strike action today. West Midlands Railway are expected to operate a limited train service north of Leamington Spa. Great Western Railway are expected to operate a limited train service from Oxford towards Reading / London Paddington.

Monday 8 and Tuesday 9April - Overtime & Rest Day Work Ban

Planned ASLEF (London Underground) industrial action (drivers strike)

Due to planned ASLEF industrial action on this date, a LIMITED SERVICE will be in operation, structured as follows:

  • 1 train per hour London Marylebone - stations to Birmingham Moor Street (and vice-versa).
  • 2 trains per hour London Marylebone - stations to Oxford (and vice-versa).
  • 1 train per hour Princes Risborough - stations to Aylesbury (and vice-versa).
  • Shuttle service Leamington Spa - stations to Stratford Upon Avon (and vice-versa) for most of the day.
  • 1 train per hour London Marylebone - stations to Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham; and vice-versa). Chiltern Railways trains on this route will NOT call at stations Harrow On The Hill - stations to Amersham inclusive on Monday 8 April only.

Some additional services will operate during the morning and evening peak periods.

No Chiltern Railways service will operate on the following routes/at the following stations:

  • NO SERVICE: Harrow On The Hill - stations to Amersham inclusive (Monday 8 only)
  • NO SERVICE: Stourbridge Junction - stations to Birmingham Moor Street.
  • NO SERVICE: Sudbury & Harrow Road, Sudbury Hill Harrow, Northolt Park or South Ruislip.

A severely reduced Chiltern Railways service will operate at Denham Golf Club and at Kings Sutton.
