The RMT Union have announced plans for industrial action to affect services on the following dates:
- Saturday 26 August
- Saturday 2 September
Saturday 26 August and Sunday 2 September:
A very limited timetable will operate on both days due to industrial action and planned major engineering work.
The timetable will be structured as below. This service will only operate between approximately 09:00 and 18:00 / 21:00 (dependent on route and direction of travel):
- 1 train per hour between London Marylebone and Banbury
- 1 train per hour between London Marylebone and Oxford
- 1 train per hour between London Marylebone and Aylesbury (via Amersham)
In particular, no Chiltern Railways services will operate north of Banbury. No trains will call at Wembley Stadium, Northolt Park, South Ruislip, Warwick, Warwick Parkway, Hatton or Lapworth all day.
The railway is CLOSED between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury for 10 weeks from 19 August until 29 October inclusive. This is to facilitate HS2 civil engineering works including construction of a new bridge to carry the Chiltern line over the HS2 line.
During this period, rail replacement buses will operate between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury, calling at Monks Risborough and Little Kimble. Buses will connect with trains at Princes Risborough.
