Lines have reopened following an operational incident between Worthing and Littlehampton / Barnham earlier today. Trains are returning to normal but may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 17:30.

Customer advice:

All lines have now reopened, and trains can begin to run on routes through the area as usual.

Southern are working to return to the scheduled timetable, but please continue to check journey planners and station information boards before you travel. Trains currently in the area will still be disrupted, and your journey may still take up to 15 minutes longer than usual.

You may still use your ticket to travel at no extra cost on:

• Alternative Southern services on any reasonable route towards your destination
• Stagecoach bus routes between Brighton, Littlehampton, and Portsmouth - including routes:
  • 9 for Arundel, Littlehampton, Angmering Worthing, Lancing, and Shoreham by Sea
  • 700 for Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Chichester, Havant, and Portsmouth
• Compass Travel bus routes 85 / 85a between Chichester, Barnham, and Arundel

Please note that if you have not yet started your journey, it will now be faster to wait for the next available train service.
