Can you tell me more about the incident?
In the early hours of this morning, a low-speed derailment was reported in Selhurst Depot. This depot is used for the overnight storage, cleaning and maintenance of a large number of Southern trains.
Some of these trains were unable to enter the depot, so they were instead stored at other locations. This has meant they haven't been in the correct places for the start of the train service this morning. Before we manage to relocate each train to the right place, there will be some unavoidable cancellations.
Work is underway to restore the depot to full operation, and we expect this will be completed very shortly. Internal investigations will be carried out to identify the cause of the incident.
