A broken down train between Huyton and Wigan North Western means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western may be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Effect on service:

• Wigan North Western to Liverpool Lime Street - Services are unable to call at stations between Wigan North Western and Huyton. Where possible, services will divert via an alternative route but will be unable to call at stations between Wigan North Western and Huyton.
• Liverpool Lime Street to Wigan North Western - Services are able to run however may be subject to short notice delays and cancellations
• Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Airport/Manchester Airport to Liverpool Lime Street - Services are able to call at all stations as normal however may be subject to short notice delays and cancellations.

Rail Replacement:

Road transport has been requested to operate between Wigan North Western and Liverpool Lime Street.

A further message will be sent once the operators are confirmed and we have an estimated time for presentation of the replacement vehicles.
