All lines have reopened between Welwyn Garden City and Potters Bar, following a fault on a train between these stations. However, whilst service recovers, journeys between Stevenage and Finsbury Park may still be delayed by up to 30 minutes or cancelled.
We anticipate that disruption will continue until 07:30.
Customer Advice
Please allow extra time for your journey this morning.
How is this currently affecting the train service?
A train was temporarily held at Hatfield, while a fault on the unit was investigate. This delayed two further services behind it. The fault has been resolved, and the train is on the move. Some alterations will take place to ensure a return to regular service happens as quickly as possible.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
When a train fault occurs, the driver will contact train technicians and will be guided through a 10 minute repair process. If they are unable to fix the fault, the train will be terminated and taken out of passenger service and returned to the depot for full safety investigation and repairs. This is likely to have an immediate knock on effect, particularly in busy locations across the railway network, as well as on later services in the day.
