Due to a fault with the signalling system between Sheffield and Stockport / Manchester Piccadilly some lines are currently closed. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 20:00.
Network Rail are aware of the fault and a team have now arrived on site and are working to resolve the fault.Â

There is a fault with the signalling system at Dore Junction. This is between Sheffield and Stockport and is disrupting our trains on the Liverpool / Nottingham / Norwich route.
How does this affect my train?
Trains running through the area in the Sheffield direction cannot run between Stockport and Sheffield.
Trains running through the area in the Stockport direction can run normally between Sheffield and Stockport.
How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 60 minutes. We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.
TransPennine Express
Services running from Liverpool and Manchester towards Sheffield and Cleethorpes are currently unable to run through this area.
To assist you with your journey you may use your ticket on the following alternatives:
- Alternative TransPennine Express services between Liverpool/Manchester and Leeds/York via Huddersfield.
- Northern services between Huddersfield and Sheffield, as well as Leeds and Sheffield/Doncaster.
