Trains running through the area in the Stockport direction will be diverted between Chesterfield and Stockport, the diversionary route means that trains are NOT able to call at Sheffield.
Trains running through the area in the Chesterfield can run normally between Stockport and Chesterfield.
How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 30 minutes.
East Midlands Railway have made arrangements for you to use your tickets, at no extra cost, with other train operators to keep you on the move.
Sheffield - Stockport/Manchester
You can use your original tickets with TransPennine Express between Sheffield and Stockport / Manchester in both direction. Connections towards Liverpool can be made at Manchester Piccadilly.
Chesterfield - Sheffield
You can use your original ticket on East Midlands Railway Intercity services, CrossCountry and Northern between Sheffield and Chesterfield in both direction.
How does this affect my journey?
Services will be delayed at Sheffield or cancelled at short notice, whilst Network Rail staff attend to this matter.
TransPennine Express services will also divert where possible via Huddersfield towards Manchester Piccadilly.
What should I do?
Customers are advised to still travel, as the following alternative arrangements are in place until further notice. However, journeys will take longer as a result of this disruption and customers should allow extra time for their journey.
