A points failure near Lanark means some southbound lines are closed. As a result, trains running between Motherwell and Lanark / Carlisle may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected to continue until 16:00.

Advice for ScotRail customers:

Services running between Glasgow Central and Lanark may be revised to run between Glasgow Central and Motherwell only.

Additional information:

The points failure has occurred on at Lanark junction, which is where services going to and from Lanark split from the "main line" between Motherwell and Carlisle. This is affecting all services to and from Lanark, and southbound services on the "main line".
