A broken down train in the Clifton area is causing disruption to journeys running between Manchester Victoria / Manchester Oxford Road and Bolton. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or diverted.
Disruption is expected until 09:00.
Advice for TransPennine Express customers:
Trains may divert between Manchester Oxford Road and Preston via an alternate route. Where this occurs, trains will not call at Bolton.
Rail replacement road transport has been requested to operate from Bolton towards Preston. You will be updated once this has been confirmed.
Once the incident has been resolved and the lines reopen, you can travel on any TransPennine Express or Northern service within the two hours before or after your cancelled service, at no extra cost.
Additional information:
A maintenance team is en route to repair the broken down service.
