Trains will be suspended between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly as they are unable to divert via the alternative routes because of a points failure.
Alternative arrangements are being requested to help with your journey.

If you are travelling between Liverpool and Manchester
Please use alternative services with other operators to travel between Liverpool and Manchester Victoria. For Warrington, please change at Manchester. (Please note, Northern services may not run from Manchester Oxford Road towards Warrington Central).
This may extend your journey time by up to 90 minutes.
If you are travelling between Liverpool and Nottingham/Onwards
You may use your ticket on London Northwestern Railway services between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe for connecting EMR services between Crewe and Nottingham. This may extend your journey time by up to 60 minutes.
If you are travelling between Liverpool and Sheffield
You may use your ticket on alternative Northern and TransPennine Express services between Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds for connecting Northern or LNER services (via Doncaster) for Sheffield. This may extend your journey time by up to 120 minutes.

Effect on service
Services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road may terminate / start back at Warrington Central. Stations between Warrington Central and Manchester will not be served.
Alternative travel advice
Ticket restrictions have been lifted during this incident, therefore, customers travelling between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester stations are advised to board alternative services via Newton-le-Willows as this route is unaffected.
