The emergency services are dealing with an incident near the railway between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington Bank Quay / Liverpool Lime Street. Whilst they do their work, some lines are closed. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of service.

Effect on service:

Train services are unable to run between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street via Newton-le-Willows (in both directions).

Services that run via Warrington Central are NOT affected.

You may use your ticket on TransPennine Express services via any reasonable route at no extra cost

Any ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption.

Road replacement buses will run as follows:

  • 01:10 from Manchester Oxford Road, calling at all stations to Liverpool Lime Street via Newton-le-Willows provided by Bestway
  • 01:45 from Liverpool Lime Street, calling at all stations to Manchester Oxford Road then stations as required to Manchester Airport provided by Bestway

Journey times may be extended by up to 90 minutes whilst travelling by Rail Replacement transport.
