A road vehicle has collided with a bridge between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington Central, as a result trains have to run at a reduced speed on all lines. Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

What has happened?
Network Rail are on site investigating the problem. The vehicle recovery team have assessed the damage and are now in a position to move the vehicle. Network Rail have confirmed services can run but at a reduced speed through the area. Staff do not have an estimated time that services will be able to run normally.
How does this affect my train? Trains running through the area in both directions can run but will be delayed by 30 minutes between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington Central. At present staff are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 2 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed the priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. East Midlands Railway expect their advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 12:00. How do I get where I need to be? You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 30 minutes.
