Trains running through the area in both directions cannot run, some services may be able to go via a diversion and avoid the area where the incident has happened. This will add extra time to the journey and some stops will have to be removed from the service.

East Midlands Railway have arranged for you to use your ticket at no extra cost with TransPennine Express and Northern services any reasonable route.

Northern Customer Advice

Services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road via Warrington Central are currently unable to run, This will also impact services between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street, via Warrington Central.

Services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road via Newton-le-Willows are unaffected by this disruption.

Alternative travel suggestions:

Ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption. Customers may use alternative Northern services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road (in both directions). Please note the different calling patterns for this service.

Mutual ticket acceptance is also in place with both East Midlands Trains and TransPennine Express via any reasonable route to / from Liverpool Lime Street.

Rail replacement:

1 x Oceans Travel bus will depart Warrington Central at 19:30, all stops to Liverpool Lime Street.

1 x Oceans Travel bus will depart Liverpool Lime Street at 19:40, all stops to Warrington Central.

Please see station information posters for bus pick up points and be advised journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road transport.

TransPennine Express Customer Advice

Trains are currently unable to run between Liverpool Lime Street and Warrington Central in both directions at this time. Rail replacement transport is being requested to run where available, and services will divert via Newton-le-Willows where possible.

• Avanti West Coast between Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly
• East Midlands Railway between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield
• London Northwestern Railway between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe
• Merseyrail between Liverpool Central and Liverpool South Parkway
• Northern via any reasonable route.
• Transport for Wales between Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Piccadilly, and Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly
