A fault with the signalling system between Leicester and Kettering means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

What has happened?
There is a fault with the signalling system near north Wigston Junction. This is between Leicester and Kettering and is disrupting trains on the London St Pancras International / Nottingham / Sheffield routes.

How does this affect my train?
Trains running through the area in both directions between Leicester and Kettering cannot run.
Where possible, East Midlands Railway are diverting their services around the problem. If they are able to take the diversionary route, services will not be able to call at Market Harborough. Please be aware this may add an additional 35-40 minutes to your journey. Short notice cancellations and alterations to your journey can be expected.
At present, the problem is expected to be fixed in the next 2 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed thepriority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. East Midlands Railway expect their advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 14:00.
How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 60 minutes.
East Midlands Railway are currently looking at alternative arrangements to keep you on the move. Please remember that this can take time and be assured that their team is working tirelessly to arrange this as quickly as possible for you.
Trains are likely to experience extended delays or alterations. You should use alternative routes which will be most comfortable and quickest way to get where you need to be. You may travel via the following alternative routes: If you are travelling from London you can use your ticket on LNER services between London Kings Cross and Peterborough. If you are travelling across London you can use your ticket with London Underground on all routes. If you are travelling between London Kings Cross and Bedford, and London St Pancras International and Bedford you can travel on Thameslink services. East Midlands Railway are currently trying to source a shuttle bus service between Kettering and Leicester. All of these alternative route options are available in the opposite direction too. Donât worry about your ticket, East Midlands Railway have already made arrangements with the above train companies for you to travel with your original ticket. If you need to start your outward journey from a different operator's station due to this disruption, then you will also be able to travel back to that station when you return, regardless of if the disruption has ended or your ticket type. Rail industry colleagues will welcome you on board with your original ticket. These arrangements will remain in place until the line re-opens and the train service recovers.
