Urgent repairs to the railway will be taking place from 23:00 between Hitchin and St Neots. Trains running from Hitchin to Peterborough from this time will not call at Arlesey and Sandy.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

From approximately 23:00 tonight Tuesday 5 March until 0630 tomorrow morning, Great Northern and Thameslink are unable to call at Arlesey and Sandy in the direction towards Peterborough.
If you are travelling on the 21:25 service from Horsham to Peterborough and require Arlesey or Sandy, then you should stay on board and get off at St Neots for the 23:42 back towards London. This service will wait an additional 5 minutes in order for you to make this connection. This will extend your journey by up to 25 minutes.
If you are travelling from London and require Arlesey or Sandy or are travelling from either of these stations, a rail replacement bus service with run from Hitchin towards Peterborough. This will extend your journey by up to 50 minutes.
If you are travelling on the 05:12 or 05:47 services from London Kings Cross and require Arlesey or Sandy, then you should stay on board and get off at St Neots for the 06:18 or 06:48 back towards London.This will extend your journey by up to 35 minutes.

Earlier this morning a lorry collided with a level crossing barrier between Arlesey and Sandy. The barrier closest to the line that runs towards Peterborough was damaged and overnight work is required to carry out the necessary repairs.
