Heavy Rain has flooded the railway at Draycott. This is between Derby and Long Eaton and is disrupting our trains on the following routes:
Network Rail have equipment on site pumping the water away from the running lines, the water levels are being monitored.Â
How does this affect my train?
Trains are unable to run between Derby and Long Eaton in both directions, until the water levels drop and the lines can reopen.
London St Pancras International/Nottingham/Sheffield route: East Midlands Railway will run an hourly train service between Sheffield and London St Pancras International in both directions, these services will be diverted and will not call at Derby,
Matlock/Derby/Nottingham: Trains on this route will only run between Derby and Matlock in both directions, staff are unable to run an train services between Derby and Nottingham
Crewe/Derby/Newark Castle: Trains on this route will only run between Nottingham and Newark Castle in both directions. There will be no trains running between Derby and Crewe in both directions
If the line does reopen later today, train crew and trains will be out of place, so we are expecting the disruption to continue all day.

East Midlands Railway are currently looking at alternative arrangements to keep you on the move. Please remember that this can take time and be assured that staff are working tirelessly to arrange this as quickly as possible for you.
Trains are likely to experience extended delays or alterations. You should use alternative routes which will be most comfortable and quickest way to get where you need to be. You may travel via the following alternative routes:
Sheffield
You may travel to Doncaster where you should change for a train to London Kings Cross. It is likely to take between 2 and 2.5 hours to complete this journey. Derby/Chesterfield
You may travel to Birmingham New Street where you should change for a train to London Euston. It is likely to take between 2.5 and 3 hours to complete this journey. Nottingham
You may travel to Grantham where you should change for a train to London Kings Cross. It is likely to take between 2 and 2.5 hours to complete this journey. Leicester

All of these alternative route options are available in the opposite direction too. Donât worry about your ticket, staff have already made arrangements with other train companies for you to travel with your original ticket.
Staff are trying to source rail replacement buses to run between Derby and Nottingham, Derby and East Midlands Parkway, these buses have not been confirmed yet.
These arrangements will remain in place until the line re-opens and the train service recovers.
