How does this affect my train?
Trains running through the area between Chesterfield and Sheffield will be diverted where possible, some alterations may also occur to trains that are unable to divert.
Service that are diverted will be delayed by up to 20 minutes.
At present we are expecting the line to re-open in the next 2 hours. We expect this disruption to continue for the rest of the evening.

You are able to use your tickets to travel with CrossCountry between Derby and Sheffield in both directions and also with Northern between Chesterfield and Sheffield in both directions.

Tickets will be accepted on East Midlands Railway services between Nottingham and Sheffield.
