Network Rail engineers, whilst carrying out investigations into a signalling problem discovered a broken rail at Great Chesterford.
Unfortunately, the broken rail has to be removed and replaced in order for trains to run over it safely.
Because of this issue, trains services between Cambridge and London Liverpool Street will be severely disrupted.
Alternative travel options for Greater Anglia passengers are:
Passengers travelling to / from Cambridge may travel via London Kings Cross on Great Northern services.
London Underground will accept Greater Anglia tickets on all reasonable routes between London Liverpool Street and London Kings Cross.
