A speed restriction over defective track between London St Pancras International and West Hampstead Thameslink means that trains have to run at reduced speed on some lines. Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 15 minutes.
Disruption is expected until 16:00.
Customer advice
Thameslink
Please allow up to 15 minutes extra when travelling from London towards St Albans, Luton and Bedford.
Servicesx running northbound from London St Pancras International will have to run at a reduce speed on approach to Kentish Town while a Network Rail Response staff fix minor damage to the bottom of one of the rails.
You can find out if this will affect your journey by viewing the live disruption map here.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
A Network Rail Engineering train equiped with specialist equipment has detected a slight crack in the rail near Kentish Town. This is minor enough that trains can still run safely over the rail but as a precaution we will do it at reduce speed in order to not cause any extra damage. So until this is fixed by network rail we will run across that area of track at a much reduced speed causing delays.
