A set of points (which allow trains to move from one line to another) has developed a fault between Letchworth and Hitchin, affecting London bound services from Cambridge. At present, drivers are having to seek verbal permission before passing through the area, which is causing delays.
Services towards Cambridge are unaffected by this problem.
Specialists from Network Rail are enroute to investigate the problem.
