From 21:00 tomorrow evening, engineering works will take place between Bromley South and Sevenoaks resulting in all lines being blocked. As a result of this, Thameslink services between these stations will be terminated at / started back at Bromley South.
We anticipate this to continue until the end of the day, Thursday 31 March.
Customer Advice:
Thameslink are unable to run trains all the way through to Sevenoaks after 21:00 tomorrow, Thursday 31 March.
- From London Blackfriars, the 20:46 train will be the last direct Thameslink service to Sevenoaks.
- From Sevenoaks, the 21:52 train will be the last direct Thameslink service to London Blackfriars.
Afterwards, trains will only run between London Blackfriars and Bromley South in both directions. Try and complete your journey earlier if you can, but no worries if you can't, it just means your journey time will take at least 40 minutes longer.
Will you run replacement buses?
Staff are doing what they can behind the scenes to arrange a scheduled bus between Bromley South and Sevenoaks. They will let you know once our supplier has confirmed these.
Why is the train service changing?
Network Rail has spotted a problem with a set of points near Bickley station. Points are movable sections of track, and when they break, it means trains cannot run on their usual route.
They need to repair the damage as soon as possible, and have decided to do so tomorrow evening. This gives us some time to arrange alternatives for customers using this line.
Will this affect the train service on Friday?
It's too early to say right now, but Thameslink will keep you updated as and when they receive more information from their engineering colleagues.
