Engineering work is taking place between Salford Cresent and Wigan, Bolton and Hindley and also Rainford and Kirkby, closing some lines.

Saturday and Monday to Thursday:

Southport - Manchester Oxford Road (return):

Trains will be diverted via an alternative route and will not call at stations between Wigan Wallgate and Deansgate.

Southport - Stalybridge:

Trains will run between Bolton and Stalybridge.

Stalybridge and Southport:

Trains will run between Stalybridge and Manchester Victoria.

Blackburn / Manchester Victoria - Kirkby:

Trains which usually run between Blackburn / Manchester Victoria and Bolton, and also between Wigan and Rainford.

Kirkby - Manchester Victoria / Blackburn:

Trains will run between Rainford and Wigan, and also between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn.

Leeds - Wigan (return):

Trains will run between Leeds and Manchester Victoria.

Rail replacement buses will run between:

• Wigan Wallgate and Manchester Victoria 
• Wigan Wallgate and Bolton
• Rainford and Kirkby

 

Friday:

Kirkby - Manchester Victoria / Blackburn:

Trains will start / terminate at Rainford.

Rail replacement buses will run between Kirkby and Rainford.

Sunday:

Southport - Manchester Victoria / Blackburn (return):

Trains will run between Southport and Wigan, and also between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn.

Wigan - Stalybridge via Bolton (return):

Trains will run between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge

Rail replacement buses will run between:

• Wigan Wallgate and Manchester Victoria via Atherton
• Wigan Wallgate and Manchester Victoria via Bolton
