Line closed between Lincoln and Grimsby What has happened? A train hit an obstruction on the line earlier today, there was a fallen tree on the line which has also damaged the power cables. This damage has caused issues with the signalling system. This is between Lincoln and Grimsby and is disrupting East Midlands Railway trains on the Leicester / Lincoln / Grimsby route. Network Rail are currently working on this issue and have advised that a generator could possibly be used to get trains running again. However, East Midlands Railway are expecting this issue to take a while to fix due to the significant damage caused. Another tree has now been discovered which is blocking both lines in this area. How does this affect my train? Trains running through the area in both directions cannot run between Lincoln and Grimsby Town At present East Midlands Railway are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 4 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed the priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. East Midlands Railway expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 12:00. How do I get where I need to be?
