Engineering work is taking place between Thirsk and Northallerton, starting at 18:00 on Saturday and all day on Sunday, closing some lines.

LNER:

Saturday:

From 20:00, buses will replace trains between York and Darlington until the end of service.

Sunday:

Services towards London on Sunday morning will start from York. The first train from Newcastle will depart for London Kings Cross at 10:00.

Additionally, the 08:30 Leeds to Edinburgh service will start from Darlington.

TransPennine Express:

Saturday:

From 18:00, services running from York to Middlesbrough will be replaced by buses, calling at Thirsk, Northallerton, Yarm and Thornaby.

The 19:00, services running from Middlesbrough to York will be replaced by buses, calling at Thornaby, Yarm, Northallerton and Thirsk.

From 19:00, services running from York to Newcastle will be replaced by buses, calling at Northallerton, Darlington, Durham and Chester-le-Street.

From 20:00, services running from Newcastle to York will be replaced by buses, calling at Chester-le-Street, Durham, Darlington and Northallerton.

Sunday:

The 08:38 York to Middlesbrough service will be replaced by a bus service.

No services running from York towards Middlesbrough or Newcastle will not be able to call at Thirsk. Services running from Newcastle or Middlesbrough towards York can still call at Thirsk. 

Customers travelling to Thirsk should change at Northallerton for replacement buses to Thirsk, or use services running from Northallerton to York.

Services to / from Newcastle will run at a reduced frequency.
