Engineering work is taking place between Bristol Parkway and Severn Tunnel Junction, closing all lines.

An amended timetable will be in operation.

London Paddington and Cardiff Central / Swansea / Carmarthen will be diverted, and will call additionally at Gloucester. These trains will not call at Bristol Parkway. Journey times between London and Wales will be extended, and trains will be retimed to run earlier or later than usual.

Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour – Most trains will start / terminate at Bristol Parkway, they will regain the normal route at Filton Abbey Wood and will call additionally at Stapleton Road and Lawrence Hill. Cardiff Central / Newport customers should travel via Gloucester for trains between Gloucester and Bristol Parkway to connect into / out of Portsmouth Harbour services.

Filton Abbey Wood – Bristol Temple Meads trains will not run.

For Cardiff Central / Newport / Severn Tunnel Junction, you should travel via Gloucester for trains between Gloucester and Bristol Temple Meads to connect with amended train services.

Replacement buses will run between:

  • Newport and Bristol Parkway (fast).
  • Newport, Severn Tunnel Junction, Patchway and Bristol Parkway.

If you are travelling between Patchway and Bristol Parkway, you should use local bus services - rail tickets will be accepted on these services.

At Patchway, buses towards Bristol will stop to set customers down only. Buses from Bristol will stop to pick up customers only.
