A points failure at Redhill and an earlier broken down train at Gatwick Airport is causing disruption to journeys between Gatwick Airport and Redhill. As a result of this, trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes.
This is expected until 10:00.
How is this currently affecting the train service?
Services are unable to run towards Gatwick Airport from platforms 0, 1 and 2 and instead will use platform 3 where possible.
Your tickets will be valid for use on the following:
Southern and Thameslink are accepting each others tickets,
Metrobus between Redhill, Gatwick, Crawley and Horsham,
London Underground on reasonable routes.
Can you tell me more about the incidents?
A set of points at Redhill have failed which means that less platforms are available for use for trains running South to use.
Additionally,
earlier today the 06:57 Brighton to London Victoria service developed a
fault was at a stand on platform 4 at Gatwick Airport, blocking this
line for approximately 25 minutes. The service has now moved and the
line is clear however this caused some further congestion in the area
whilst trains awaited alternative available platforms.
