Engineering work is taking place between Derby and Chesterfield / Matlock all day on Saturday 16 February, and this will require all lines to be closed between these stations.
The following changes will apply to the train service:
CrossCountry:
CrossCountry services are still expected to call at Derby and Chesterfield; however, they will divert their trains around the engineering work, increasing journey times by approximately 30 minutes.
East Midlands Trains:
Train services between Derby / Newark Castle / Nottingham and Matlock will now terminate at / start back from Derby. Buses will run in place of trains between Derby and Matlock, calling at all stations.
Southbound train services scheduled to run between Chesterfield and Derby will be revised. Some trains will divert around engineering work and will not call at Derby. Some trains will start their journey from Derby. Rail replacement buses will run between Chesterfield and Derby.
Northbound train services scheduled to run between Derby and Chesterfield will be revised. Some trains will depart Derby at an earlier time and divert around engineering work to then call at Chesterfield. Some trains will divert and no longer call at Derby. Some trains will terminate at Derby. Rail replacement buses will run between Derby and Chesterfield.
Northern:
There are only two train services scheduled to run between Derby and Chesterfield. It is not yet known how these services will be impacted by these engineering works.
