Network Rail are installing extra tracks between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway, to allow more trains to run in the Bristol area and also to and from London.
While the work takes place, the line between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway will be closed, as well as the Severn Beach line.
CrossCountry
Services will be diverted between Bristol Temple Meads and Cheltenham Spa, extending the journey time by approximately 60 minutes.
Buses will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway and also between Bristol Parkway and Cheltenham Spa.
Great Western Railway
Buses will replace trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Severn Beach / Bristol Parkway.
Trains that usually run between Westbury, Weymouth, Brighton and Great Malvern / Worcester / Cheltenham Spa will be amended to run as two separate services; between Westbury / Weymouth / Brighton and Bristol Temple Meads and between Cardiff Central and Great Malvern / Worcester / Cheltenham Spa via Bristol Parkway.
Trains between Portsmouth / Taunton and Cardiff will be amended to run between Portsmouth / Taunton and Bristol Temple Meads only.
On Sunday 9 October, a reduced service will run between Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington.
On Sunday 18 November, an amended service will run between Bristol Temple Meads / Bristol Parkway / Plymouth and London Paddington. Also, train services scheduled to run between Weston-Super-Mare and London Paddington will be revised and will only run between Bristol Temple Meads / Bristol Parkway and London Paddington.
On Saturday 24 November, a reduced service will run between Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington. In addition, the 06:54 Taunton to London Paddington service will start at Bristol Temple Meads.
On Saturday 25 November, an amended service will operate between London Paddington and Plymouth, Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, with trains being re-timed, diverted via an alternative route or starting / terminating at alternative locations.
