Here are five great places to tempt you, that you might not have tried before. Read on for some lunchtime inspiration to get your taste buds tingling.

Hugs + Bites

If you want a taste of the Mediterranean with a tasty modern twist, then Hugs + Bites is a great shout. Sample the finest local and seasonal ingredients in fresh market salads, tapas dishes and hearty casseroles. Their meat skewers are also delicious and perfect for lunchtime protein fix. If you are with colleagues, then why not get a selection of tapas to share? Choose from homemade hummus and tzatziki as well as fresh falafel, beetroot tarator and zucchini fritters. The décor is cool, contemporary and the food is beautifully presented in Mediterranean inspired plates and colourful bowls.

Murger Han

Enter London’s first authentic Xi’an restaurant for a true taste of Northwest China. Their signature dish is the murger, which is the Chinese equivalent of a hamburger served in a pan-baked flat bread. Dating all back to the Quin Dynasty in 221BC, these are said to be the world’s oldest type of burger! Even if murgers are not your sort of thing, there are plenty of other delicious street food dishes to keep you satisfied. Choose from steamy ramen with seasonal veg, clay pots of pork ribs and spicy broth or fresh gyozas and seaweed salad for a lighter option. Tasting menus are also available if you fancy a bit of everything!

White Mustache

This hidden gem is a great place for coffee, beer and food, and is only a short walk away from your departure train at Euston station. On warmer days there is a fantastic sun trap in the hidden courtyard, which also showcases live sporting events when they are on. The menu is eclectic British and there is something for everyone. From a roasted butternut squash salad to a 21-day aged flat iron steak it doesn’t matter whether you are 100% vegan or 100% meat-eater, you are sure to find something that you fancy here. They also frequently run lunch offers including food and a drink, from just £10 per person!

Mai Sushi

Located in between Euston station and King’s Cross station, Mai Sushi is an authentic Japanese bar and restaurant where you can either eat in or take-out - if you are dashing for your train. Healthy, fresh and delicious, you can taste the finest sashimi and sushi choosing from a range of salmon, tuna, sea bass, sea bream, turbot, yellow tail, mackerel, eel and prawn. There is also a great selection of hot dishes too, including Japanese soups, tempura, teriyaki and noodles. Their bento boxes are a great way of getting a good mix of sushi, sashimi, rice, soup and a hot dish at a very reasonable price.

Exmouth Arms

The Exmouth Arms is a slightly longer walk away from the station, but definitely worth the steps. This Victorian green-tiled pub is just the place if you fancy a craft beer and a slider before your journey home from Euston train station. The interior is cosy yet modern and there is a mid-boggling selection of beers, pale ales, IPAs, stouts, porters and barley wines, not to mention sours, ciders and Belgian-style beers! When it comes to food, think hearty British eats. British beef burgers, fish finger sandwiches and chargrilled chorizo are all favourites on the menu here. But there are also lighter bites and veggie options too, such as baby kale and falafel salads, vegan green curries and spiced sweet potato croquettes. An all-round winner if you want a relaxed and informal vibe.
