The broken down freight train is no longer blocking the lines between Barry and Bridgend. As a result, trains can begin running again between Cardiff Central and Bridgend via Barry. Journeys may be cancelled or delayed by up to 40 minutes whilst service recovers.
There is also engineering work on the line via Pontyclun which is why services were not able to divert around the incident.
Disruption is expected until 14:30.
