Storm Éowyn is expected to bring very strong winds and rain to most parts of Great Britain today, Friday 24 January. The Met office have issued an amber and yellow weather warning which may disrupt routes on East Midlands Railway network.

East Midlands Railway are planning to run a full advertised service however you are advised to check before you travel.

If you have a ticket to travel today, you may use your ticket to travel up to and including Tuesday 28 January, at no extra cost.

Current disruptions:

Stockport - Sheffield

Due to a tree blocking the railway at Hazel Grove all lines are currently closed. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised to start / terminate at Sheffield.

Disruption is expected until 10:30.

Warrington Central - Manchester Oxford Road

Due to a tree blocking the railway at Birchwood some lines are currently closed. Trains may be cancelled, delayed or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 09:00.

• Northern between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield
• TransPennine Express between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield
