Severe weather is expected to affect services on the East Midlands Railway network. Trains may be subject to delay, alteration and cancellation.

Network Rail will impose speed restrictions across much of the East Midlands Railway network from 18:00 today, Sunday 21 January, until 07:00 on Monday 22 January.

After 18:00, a significantly altered timetable will be in operation on the intercity route between London St Pancras International and Nottingham / Derby / Sheffield. Some journey times will be more than doubled.

One train per hour will run in each direction between London St Pancras and Sheffield, and between London St Pancras International and Nottingham. Some services have been cancelled, others have been amended and online journey planners have been updated.

On other routes, services will be subject to delays and some short-notice alterations and cancellations may occur.

We strongly recommend you check your full journey before travelling, and allow extra time to complete your journey.

If you hold an ‘advance ticket’ which is usually valid on a specific train you may use it to travel on any East Midlands Railway train on your planned route today, Sunday 21 January. Additionally, if you wish to delay travel, East Midlands Railway tickets dated today, Sunday 21 January, will be valid for travel on Monday 22 January instead, at no extra cost.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
