The police are dealing with an incident near the railway between Hastings and Ashford International. As a result of this, trains are unable to run and will be cancelled and terminated / started back at Hastings.
All stations between Three Oaks and Ashford International will not be served.
This is expected until 16:30.
Customer Advice
A number of Southern services will be cancelled on the route between Hastings and Ashford International this afternoon.
Trains from Eastbourne to Ashford International will terminate at Hastings and return from there towards Eastbourne.
Initially, Southern expect that services will get back to normal from about 16:00-16:30. However, the closure could be extended if police need extra time on site.
Because of this closure, staff expect journeys will take around 30-45 minutes longer than usual.
Alternative journey options and ticket acceptance:
At present, the following bus journeys are confirmed:
- 13:27 Hastings to Ashford International
- 14:25 Ashford International to Hastings
- 15:00 Rye to Ashford International
- 15:25 Ashford International to Hastings
Buses will be operated by Travelmasters.
Please note that any replacement buses for Three Oaks will serve the Southern replacement bus stops on the A259 at Guestling Thorn. Buses for Winchelsea will serve the Southern replacement bus stops in the centre of the village, rather than near the station.
âââââââUnfortunately, there is currently no bus available to depart Hastings at 14:27. If this changes, we will let you know.
If you are travelling between the Hastings and Ashford areas, you can travel on Southeastern services between Hastings, St Leonards Warrior Square and Tonbridge, and then change trains for their services between Tonbridge and Ashford International. However, this will take around an hour longer than usual.
