Customer advice

Services between Dorking and Horsham will not run. The following stations will have no alternative service:

• Holmwood
• Ockley
• Warnham

If you require the above stations, you will need to use alternative services to complete your journey. Your journey will take at least 20 minutes extra to complete, especially if you are travelling using alternative road transport. Please check journey planners for the latest information.

Services between London Victoria and Dorking will be unaffected.

Replacement buses:

Southern have requested buses from their suppliers, but they haven't had confirmation of these yet.

Bus journeys will take longer than your usual train journey on this route.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on:

• Metrobus routes 93 between Horsham and Dorking
• Alternative Southern or Thameslink services via any reasonable route

Can you tell me more about the incident?

We've had a report of a possible issue with the track in this area. Network Rail's engineers are attending as quickly as possible to carry out a detailed inspection.

There are various different types of defects, and the first advice usually comes from drivers or other staff travelling through the area. Response staff will check the location which has been specified and find out whether the track is still supported correctly, whether the rails themselves are in the usual condition, and if there are any problems with the fixings and metalwork which attach the rails to the sleepers.

Until this is done, trains have been stopped from running both ways through this part of the network.
