A small rock fall occurred on Tuesday 23 November at Dingwall. Trains have still been able to pass this section at a reduced speed and Network Rail have been on site monitoring the passage of trains to ensure that it is still safe to run. After the effects of Storm Arwen Network Rail are looking to take control of the line from 23:00 Friday night until 05:00 Monday morning in order to remove the rock fall.
In order to accommodate this the line between Dingwall and Wick will be closed on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December. A train shuttle will operate between Inverness and Dingwall and also between Wick and Helmsdale. Buses have been requested to run between Inverness and Wick but these have not yet been confirmed. We will update you once we have more information about the buses.
