Due to an expected high tide on the Cumbria Coast this evening, train services between Barrow-in-Furness and Workington will be unable to run from the start of service until at least 07:30 tomorrow morning.

This is to allow the route to be inspected for any damage prior to passenger services running. Trains on this route may be cancelled or revised.

The following alterations will apply:

  • The 06:30 Whitehaven to Carlisle service will start from Workington
  • The 05:48 Maryport to Barrow-in-Furness service will be cancelled
  • The 05:58 Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle service will start from Workington
