Following earlier damage to the electric third rail between Lewes and Eastbourne all lines have now reopened. Trains running between these stations may continue to be delayed.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Please allow extra time for any journeys through the area between Lewes and Eastbourne.
An earlier problem with the third rail was investigated by Network Rail colleagues, and while trains will be able to run through the area, there may be some minor delays in effect.
The area will be monitored, so Southern also advise to check journey planners before heading to your station and starting your journey.

Earlier today a report was received of an issue with the third railk that supplies electricity for the passage of trains. This caused some delays and alterations. Network Rail have attended and trains can travel as normal now, but Southern will continue to monitor the situation.
