There was a points failure at Chesterfield South Junction. This is between Sheffield and Alfreton, and was disrupting the trains on the Liverpool / Nottingham / Norwich route.
Network Rail have been on site and inspected the problem with the points.
How does this affect my train?
Trains running through the area in the Sheffield direction can run normally between Alfreton and Sheffield.
Their priority will be to get trains running to the advertised times again. It is expected that the advertised timetable will resume on the affected routes by 10:00.
How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 60 minutes.
East Midlands Railway have made arrangements for you to use your tickets with other rail operators to help you get where you need to be.
If you are travelling between from Sheffield to Chesterfield, you may use your tickets on East Midlands Railway services from Sheffield to London St Pancras International. Tickets will be accepted in both direction.
If you are travelling from Chesterfield towards Nottingham you can use your tickets on East Midlands Railway services to Derby. You should change at Derby and use either East Midlands Railway or CrossCountry services to Nottingham.
