Industrial action has been announced on the following days:

  • Friday 12 May (ASLEF Union)
  • Saturday 13 May (RMT Union)
  • Wednesday 31 May (ASLEF Union)
  • Saturday 3 June (ASLEF Union)

Friday 12 May

The nationwide ASLEF strike on Friday 12 May will include SWR's network-wide depot drivers and train drivers on the Island Line.

There will be no services on the Island Line all day.

While this industrial action does not impact the majority of SWR drivers on ASLEF strike days, there are some impacts on the West of England and suburban routes, because of local industrial action.

As a result, South Western Railway expect to run a reduced service on the following routes:

  • between Exeter St Davids and London Waterloo
  • in the Romsey area
  • on the SWR suburban network

Saturday 13 May

Members of the RMT union will take part in nationwide strike action on 13 May, severely reducing the number of trains able to run and the hours of operation.

A reduced service will operate between 07:00 and 19:00 only and large parts of the South Western Railway network will be closed.

South Western Railway trains will serve the following routes only:

  • between London Waterloo and Windsor via Hounslow - 2 trains per hour reducing to 1 from mid-afternoon
  • between London Waterloo and Windsor via Richmond - 2 trains per hour
  • between London Waterloo and Woking - 4 trains per hour
  • between London Waterloo and Basingstoke - 1 fast and 2 semi-fast trains per hour
  • between Basingstoke and Salisbury - 1 train per hour
  • a reduced service on the Island Line

There will be no services on any other SWR routes.
