Lines have reopened following a fault with the signalling system in the Swindon area.
Services running through Swindon are returning to normal but may still be severely delayed by up to 60 minutes, cancelled or revised.
Major disruption is expected to continue until 16:30.
The following routes are affected:
Cheltenham Spa - London Paddington
Trains between Cheltenham Spa / Gloucester and London Paddington are able to run once again. Although the lines have reopened, you are advised to not travel via Bristol as this route is still experiencing delays.
If it helps with your journey, you can travel on CrossCountry services between Cheltenham Spa / Gloucester and Birmingham New Street to connect with Avanti West Coast services to and from London Euston.
Stagecoach bus routes 62, 63, 64, 65 and 66 can help with your journey along this route. Your ticket is valid on these services.
Bristol Temple Meads / Bristol Parkway - London Paddington
Trains between South Wales and London Paddington are severely disrupted, trains are able to run again but will be delayed.
If it helps with your journey, you can travel on CrossCountry services between Cheltenham Spa / Gloucester and Birmingham New Street to connect with Avanti West Coast services to and from London Euston.
Alternatively, you can use Transport for Wales services between South Wales and Birmingham New Street.

A signal outage blocked all lines through Swindon earlier today. Specialist teams have resolved the problem but major disruption is expected to continue whilst service recovers.
