A shortage of staff on a freight train between Deptford and Slade Green is causing disruption to journeys running between these stations. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 14:00.

A freight train is being delayed between Dartford and Slade Green as it needs an additional member of train crew to continue.

How does this affect my journey?

Services from Dartford and Slade Green towards London are unable to run via Woolwich and will be diverted to run via Bexleyheath.

Services from Slade Green towards London Cannon Street via Bexleyheath will be diverted to run via Sidcup.

Services from Barnehurst towards London Cannon Street via Woolwich will be diverted to run via Sidcup.

What do I need to do?

You can use the following alternative services at no extra cost:

  • London Buses between stations on the Woolwich line and alternative station on the Bexleyheath or Sidcup lines
  • Elizabeth line between Abbey Wood and Central London
  • Docklands Light Railway between Woolwich, Greenwich and Lewisham
  • London Underground between out London terminals & Elizabeth line stations

Thameslink

Trains towards London will be diverted after Dartford and will call at Bexleyheath and Lewisham only.

If you need one of the following stations you should travel to London Bridge and catch a return service. If you are at one of these stations and need to travel to London you can take a train to Dartford and catch a return service via Lewisham:

  • Slade Green
  • Abbey Wood
  • Plumstead
  • Woolwich Arsenal
  • Charlton
  • Westcombe Park
  • Maze Hill
  • Greenwich
  • Deptford

 

Alternatively you can use your ticket, at no extra cost, on the following:

  • London Buses between Dartford and London Bridge
  • Southeastern between Dartford and London

 

Can you tell me more about the incident?

A freight train has stopped and is blocking the line in the Slade Green area. Until this is moved, no Thameslink trains can run on their normal route between Dartford and London Bridge, so will divert and call additionally at Bexleyheath and Lewisham.
