A fault on a train at Purley means lines are disrupted. As a result, trains through this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

We have been advised that a train has come to a stand at Purley with a fault. This will cause delays in the area as it is now blocking that line and platform.

We will update you when we know more.

When a train fault occurs, the driver will contact train technicians and will be guided through a 10 minute repair process. If they are unable to fix the fault, the train will be terminated and taken out of passenger service and returned to the depot for full safety investigation and repairs.  This is likely to have an immediate knock on effect, particularly in busy locations across the network, as well as on later services in the day.
