Great Northern & Thameslink customer advice
If you are travelling on a Thameslink or Great Northern train which runs to, from or through Cambridge, your journey is likely to be delayed. Some trains may also terminate before they reach the area, or may call at fewer stations en route.
In particular, a reduced service will operate between Ely and Kings Lynn, and taxis or buses will need to replace some trains.
Please leave extra time for your journey and listen carefully to station & onboard announcements.
In addition to the broken down train, Greater Anglia services are also significantly disrupted in the Cambridge area. This is due to a power failure on their network at Great Chesterford. We do not advise that you use these services as an alternative.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
The 07:42 London Kings Cross - Kings Lynn service has broken down just south of Cambridge. This train is currently unable to move. Other trains can move around it using alternative lines, but some congestion is likely.
