<p>Disruption to Southern services between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction expected until 18:00</p>

A fault with the signalling system between Shepherds Bush and Wembley Central is causing disruption to Southern services running between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction. As a result, trains may be cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 18:00.

Customer advice:

Due to a fault with the signalling system between Shepherd's Bush and Wembley Central, no trains will run between these stations. You will need to use an alternative route to reach your destination.

You can use your ticket to travel at no extra cost on the following:

• Southern trains on any reasonable route

• London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Watford Junction

• Avanti West Coast between London Euston and Watford Junction

• London Overground:

  • Between London Euston and Watford Junction (for Wembley Central, Harrow & Wealdstone) 

  • Between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction (for Imperial Wharf, West Brompton, Kensington Olympia, Shepherds Bush) 

• London Underground on any reasonable route

 

Please be aware that using these alternatives will extend your journey time by up to 20 minutes, so please check journey planners and station information boards, and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

The rail network is designed so that if a signal stops working, trains will stop before they reach it. Whilst this issue is ongoing, the train crew will stop at the affected signal and contact the signalling centre to confirm their location. At this point, the signaller will verbally authorise the driver to continue towards the next signal. This process adds time to every train's journey, which means services will be delayed or cancelled.
