How does this affect my train? Trains running through the area from Grantham towards Peterborough/ Ely cannot run into Peterborough Station. However, if services are able to divert, they will be able to call at Peterborough. These services will not call at Grantham, and should not add any additional delays to your journey. Trains running through the area from Ely / Peterborough towards Grantham are currently not affected by this problem.
How do I get where I need to be?
East Midlands Railway services likely to experience extended delays or alterations. You should use alternative routes which will be most comfortable and the quickest way to get you to where you need to be. You may travel via the following alternative routes at no extra cost:
- LNER between Grantham and Peterborough
This alternative route option is available in the opposite direction too. Donât worry about your ticket, arrangements have been made with LNER for you to travel with your original ticket. These arrangements will remain in place until the line re-opens and the train service recovers.

Network Rail are going to investigate the problem. There is not currently an expected time that the team are due to arrive on site.
