Trains running through the area cannot run in either direction.
At present, the problem is expected to be fixed in the next 2 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed the priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.
How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 60 minutes.

Merseyrail
Trains may be terminated / started back from Liverpool Central.
A rail replacement bus service has been requested to run between Moorfields and Hunts Cross, however this bus service is not yet in operation.
Northern
Customers may use alternative Northern services between Liverpool stations and Manchester stations via Newton-le-Willows.
All ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption.
Replacement road transport is currently being sourced to run between Liverpool Lime Street and Warrington Central. More details will be provided once this has been confirmed.
TransPennine Express
Customers may use their ticket for travel on the following:
- East Midlands Railway services between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield in both directions
- Alternative TransPennine Express services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Victoria
