Can you tell me more about the incident?
During engineering work carried out overnight a defect was discovered on a piece of track used for trains crossing over from one line to another. For safety reasons Network Rail have imposed an emergency speed restriction over the area resulting in Thameslink having to remove the train service that runs between Gatwick and Bedford in order to stop congestion, and further major disruption to other trains.
