Lines have now reopened following a fault with the signalling system between Norwich and Thetford. Whilst service recovers, trains between Norwich and Ely may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected to continue until 20:00.

What has happened?
There was a fault with the signalling system between Norwich and Thetford. This was disrupting trains on the Liverpool Lime Street / Nottingham / Norwich route.
Network Rail have been to site and have managed to clear the signal.
How does this affect my train?
Trains are now able to run in both directions but are running with delays of up to 30 minutes. Some trains will be subject to short notice cancellation and may terminate short of their destination.
East Midlands Railway's priority is now to get trains running to their advertised times again. They expect their advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 19:00.
How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by 60 minutes.
Don't worry about your ticket, East Midlands Railway have already made arrangements for you. You can use your ticket to travel with Greater Anglia from Norwich to Ely via Ipswich, and directly from Ely to Norwich.

Due to a signalling system fault at Spooner Row, services between Norwich and Ely are having to run at a reduced speed in both directions to ensure safety on our railway. This reduced speed is leading to congestion which can cause alterations and cancellations to services. Greater Anglia are working diligently with Network Rail to restore their full timetable as soon as possible.
